‘As a man thinketh’ is a book written by James Allen and it was published in 1903. Allen was a philosopher and writer known for his inspirational books and he was a pioneer of the self-help movement. He points out in his book that, until thought is linked with purpose then there's no intelligent accomplishment and that has really got me thinking. We need an idea of what we want in our lives before we can make plan. We could go through our days doing this, doing that but if our thoughts are not linked to our purpose we are possibly going around and around in circles. Here is an example of a powerful life purpose, maybe you want to climb Mount Everest, for someone like Sir Edmund Hillary (the first man to climb Everest), this became his purpose in life. So, all his thoughts, his vision and his goals were directed at manifesting his purpose. So, it led me to thinking have I established my purpose in my life? You see our purpose is why we're living. Why do we get out of bed in the morning? Why are we doing what we do? Our thoughts, throughout the day, have got to be linked with our purpose. I pretty sure that not many of us get up in the morning and plan not to accomplish anything, but are our thoughts being connected to what we really want in our lives? I really think that's worth playing with for little while. Until thought is linked with purpose, there's no intelligent accomplishment. So, have you established your purpose have you decided why you are on this planet? Purpose, Vision and Goals it's all linked. So today I'm going to spend some time thinking about this. Why am I here, what do I want in my life and probably more importantly what do I not want in my life? If you are missing this important part to your life, I might suggest that it would be a good idea for you to do that as well. I’m sure it will be really interesting for you to see what you come up with! Because when we've got that purpose, then we can build a vision and then we can build goals around that and then we’ve got a direction to aim for, so James Allen’s really made me think today and I hope this does you as well! When you find your true purpose in life you can expect to start yourself on the road to an exciting, fulfilling life, full of the opportunity and success. Have a great time with this idea!
